# Rank Smart Collections

_Create and sort collections by what actually sells_

Rankify re-orders the products inside your Shopify collections on a schedule you set — ranked by sales, revenue, margin, stock, reviews and real storefront behaviour instead of by whatever got added last.

Rated **5/5** from 2 reviews on the Shopify App Store.

## Sort order is merchandising, and most stores never touch it

A collection page is the shelf. Left alone, Shopify fills it in the order products happened to be added — and that order has nothing to do with what sells.

- **The first row is whatever was added first** → Ranked by sales, revenue or conversion, re-run on a schedule
- **Sold-out products taking up the top of the page** → One switch pushes out-of-stock products to the bottom
- **Best selling by units is hiding your best margin** → Score on margin, revenue and units together, with weights
- **Re-sorting forty collections by hand every week** → Apply one strategy across many collections in a bulk job

## What Rankify can rank on

Thirty-two built-in sort fields, plus any numeric metafield you already keep on your products.

- **Sales and orders**: Best selling by units or by revenue, order count, and sell-through rate — the signals that say a product is actually moving.
- **Storefront behaviour**: Views, add-to-carts, purchases, conversion rate, add-to-cart rate and revenue per view, collected by Rankify's own web pixel.
- **Price, margin and stock**: Price, compare-at price, discount percentage, on-sale flag, profit margin against your cost, inventory, sizes in stock and variant availability.
- **Reviews, dates and details**: Review rating and count, created, published and updated dates, title, vendor, product type, category, and whether a product even has an image.
- **Order by, or score with weights**: Sort straight down one field, or build a scoring strategy that blends several with weights — so margin can matter more than units without ignoring units.
- **Pins, exclusions and limits**: Pin products to the top for a set duration, exclude products entirely, cap how many survive the sort, and fade a boost in for new arrivals.

## By the numbers

- **32** — Built-in sort fields, plus your numeric metafields
- **8** — Ready-made strategies you can apply as they are
- **10** — Re-sort cadences, from hourly to monthly
- **0** — Lines of theme code to install

## Four steps, then it runs without you

- **1. Pick a collection**: Any collection you already have. Rankify manages the ones you choose and leaves the rest alone.
- **2. Choose a strategy**: Start from a template like Best Sellers First, New Arrivals or Clearance, or build your own from rules and sort fields.
- **3. Set the cadence**: Hourly, every few hours, daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly — how often depends on your plan. Turn auto-update off to freeze the current order.
- **4. Watch it work**: The dashboard shows sort activity, revenue attributed to sorting, and storefront funnel metrics as pixel data accumulates.

## The rest of the merchandising work

Sorting is the core. These are the things you would otherwise be doing by hand around it.

- **A/B test two sort recipes**: Run strategy A against strategy B — or against sorting turned off — on the same collection. The whole collection alternates on an interval, so there are no per-visitor cookies fighting Shopify's cache. Rankify reports conversion, add-to-cart, bounce and exit per variant with a two-proportion z-test; you pick the winner.
- **Bulk collection jobs**: Apply sort settings across many collections at once, or create collections in bulk from your vendors, product types or tags with a title template. Jobs run in the background, and a completed one can be undone.
- **Store-wide product boosts**: Give a product extra ranking points everywhere it appears in a scoring strategy — a launch you want lifted, or a negative value for something you want pushed down.
- **Variant option sorting**: Reorder the values inside a product option so Size reads S, M, L instead of alphabetically. Alphabetical, numeric, common US apparel and shoe runs, or an order you type.
- **Collection issue detection**: A daily check across your managed collections that flags a low product count and out-of-stock products sitting above the fold, so you find them before a shopper does.

## Three plans, priced by catalogue size

- **Basic** — 9.5 USD/month. A small catalogue and a few collections that matter most.
- **Plus** — 19 USD/month. Unlimited collections and the full sort field set.
- **Advanced** — 49 USD/month. Large catalogues that need to re-rank through the day.

## Questions

### Does Rankify change my collections or just how they look?

It changes the collection itself. Rankify writes the new product order into Shopify through the Admin API, the same way you would by dragging products in the admin. That means the order is real: your theme, your search results page, your app integrations and any other sales channel all read the same order. Nothing is layered on at the storefront, and nothing breaks if you uninstall — the last order Rankify wrote simply stays.

### Do I have to edit my theme?

No. Sorting works entirely through the Shopify Admin API, so there is no snippet, no script tag and no theme change. The only other moving part is Rankify's web pixel, which the app activates for you the first time you open the dashboard. It collects the storefront metrics — views, add-to-carts, conversion rate — behind the pixel-based sort fields and the analytics page.

### How often will my collections re-sort?

You choose per collection, from every hour up to once a month. Basic allows weekly, fortnightly and monthly; Plus goes down to every 12 hours; Advanced goes down to every hour. Plus and Advanced can also force an immediate re-sort when you do not want to wait for the next run.

### Can I keep certain products at the top no matter what?

Yes. Pin any product to the top, optionally for a set duration so a promotion expires on its own. You can also exclude products from a collection, cap how many products survive the sort, push sold-out products to the bottom, and give recently added products a boost that fades over time.

### Is there a free plan?

No. There are three paid plans — Basic at $9.50, Plus at $19 and Advanced at $49 a month — and each one starts with a 3-day free trial billed through Shopify. Any older description of Rankify mentioning a free tier is out of date.

### What happens to a collection I stop managing?

Turn off auto-update on a collection and the current order is frozen exactly as it is; nothing reverts and nothing is reshuffled. Remove the strategy or uninstall the app and the collection keeps the last order Rankify wrote, which you can then edit by hand in the Shopify admin.
